From a four- course gourmet extravaganza, to a traditional lunch or afternoon tea, there’s something to suit all budgets. We can even arrange for your guests to have ice creams served from a special stall by the Downham’s own ice cream shop with flavours of your choice!

The Assheton Arms, which is in the centre of the village and opposite the church, offers adjacent luxury accommodation in a converted ex-Post office and two Estate Cottages. There are 12 beautifully appointed en-suite rooms, with doubles from around £80 per night and the pub, which is a real magnet for foodies, is open all day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the budget end of the scale – perhaps for younger or teenage guests or families - Downham has its own Camping Barn which is now run by the Downham Estate. The refurbished barn is just over half a mile from the village and can accommodate up to 14 people sleeping on the upper floor, and has a kitchen with big table, shower and toilet and a wood burning stove. There is also plenty of room on the barn’s site for up to 10 x 2-person external tents and there is a bonfire pit with seating and a barbeque.
